ALTON police have praised the quick thinking of a local resident who helped bring a bizarre incident involving the abduction of a six-month-old baby to a speedy conclusion.
The baby boy, who had been snatched while in the care of his grandfather in Brighton, was brought to Alton by a woman who tried to pass him off as her own.
