ALTON town mayor Cllr Ginny Boxall is far too busy to retire – but she will be taking a look at one of her future options tomorrow (Friday).

She will perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open McCarthy Stone’s new Queen Elizabeth Place retirement living development at Orchard Lane in Alton.

Prospective residents can enjoy a glass of fizz while taking a look around during an open day taking place between midday and 3pm. They can book an appointment by calling 0800 153 3076.

Cllr Boxall said: “I am very much looking forward to my visit to Queen Elizabeth Place, where I understand a sociable and friendly community has already been established for like-minded local people.

“I am sure Queen Elizabeth Place will continue to take its place at the heart of the local community in Alton.”

McCarthy Stone Southern’s divisional marketing manager Nicki Beswarick said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the mayor for the official opening of Queen Elizabeth Place, which has fast become a flourishing community of retirees looking to live their independent lifestyle to the full.

“The event is a great opportunity for local retirees to discover more about what’s on offer at Queen Elizabeth Place, where high-quality, well-appointed apartments are paired with an enviable selection of on-site facilities.”
