THE Alton Line Users Association (ALUA) is to fight an application by Vodaphone to erect a telecommunications mast on land earmarked for a much needed extension to Alton station's car park.

The land behind the Station Cafe is owned by Railtrack and is currently subject to another planning application by Stagecoach and South West Trains who are keen to use it for additional parking.
