IT was red, white and blue all round as Early Years pupils at Amesbury celebrated the Queen’s 90th.

The fun started with a grand parade around the grounds with much waving of Union Jack flags and many home-made crowns.   The children all stood for the national anthem before sitting down for an afternoon tea fit for the Queen.

Early Years head Elaine Starling, said: “It has been a very exciting week and the children have thoroughly enjoyed preparing for our celebration.  They have been busy painting portraits of the Queen, making bunting, creating spectacular crowns as well as designing beautiful cards which we will send to the Queen wishing her a very happy 90th Birthday.

“Parents joined us at the end to watch the children sing a rousing ‘Happy Birthday your Majesty’.  It was a wonderful afternoon to mark this very special celebration, which was enjoyed by children and staff alike.”
