THE local health watchdog has demanded a public consultation after another health promise was broken when plans to close Farnham Hospital's renowned Tanner Ward were revealed last week.

The West Surrey and North East Hampshire Community Health Council says itis "dismayed and angered" by the plans to transfer 14 elderly mentally ill patients to a Godlaming nursing home.
