DR Anne Sassin Allen’s passion for archaeology dates back to growing up near the Gettysburg battlefields of Pennsylvania.

A university lecturer, she has just been appointed as the Woolmer Forest Heritage Society’s heritage officer - her mission to promote the town’s rich past as it is redeveloped for the future.

She spoke to Sheila Checkley about her work, aims and background.
