MACMILLAN Cancer Support will be holding its annual Tree of Hope Service at St Mary’s Church, Easebourne this week.

People are invited to remember a loved one by dedicating a light on the Macmillan Midhurst Tree of Hope, which is donated by Lord and Lady Cowdray, at the service, on Thursday, December 3, at 6.30pm.

All dedications will be entered in the “2015 Book of Love” and the 2014 book and those of the previous five years will be on display in the church both before and after the service.

Pupils from Easebourne Primary School accompanied by the band from the Midhurst Rother College will be performing during the short service which will be followed by the lighting up of the Tree of Hope outside.

Mince pies and mulled wine will be served after the service from the marquee.

There will be free car parking available organised this year by Midhurst Rotary Club. Spaces are limited in the church, but otherwise a PA system will be available outside the church.

Dedications for the tree are being taken through to the end of December. Forms are available from the Macmillan Charity Shop in Midhurst or the Pearson unit at Midhurst Community Hospital. Alternatively, visit www.macmillan.org.uk/sussex. or email [email protected].

All donations from this event will help fund the Macmillan Midhurst Palliative Care Service, based at the Pearson Unit at the Midhurst Community Hospital, to support patients and their families living with cancer and other life threatening illnesses in Midhurst and surrounding areas including Haslemere.
