GYMNASTS from Stellar Gymnastics travelled to the Guildford Spectrum to compete in the South East Modified Levels Championships on Sunday, October 29.

The event saw clubs from across the entire region come together to compete as individuals and as teams.

Stellar had a total of 14 gymnasts spread across six different levels. At level seven young gymnasts Evelynn Woods and Meia Johnson came first and second overall respectively, which was very impressive considering this was their first regional competition.

Stellar had two teams in level six. The Purple Team consisting of Mia Hilton, Anna Graham and Isabelle Boow finished in second place and the Silver Team’s Jilly Antrobus, Ashley Gaffney and Maddie Walker took home the shield for first place.

The overall rankings at level six saw Isabelle come in sixth, Jilly in fifth and Ashley winning the bronze medal. At level five Tilly Smith and Erin Bicheno had a strong competition after performing some new and difficult skills for the first time.

In the level four event Marissa Newell and Sophie Raine showed notable improvements from the previous year’s competition. Sophie Brewer finished in fourth place overall at level three. An encouraging result ahead of competing in the English BSG Championships in November. Ellie Raby performed with elegance and maturity at level two.

Head of Stellar Hannah Fox said of the competition: “We are very pleased with how everyone performed. These are big, challenging competitions and seeing improvements year on year proves how hard the girls are working.”
