THE mayor of Petersfield is still waiting for answers over controversial plans to move a dementia ward to Gosport.

Petersfield Town Council has demanded a meeting with the Southern NHS Foundation to clarify the future of the Willows ward.

The foundation is in the middle of a consultation into the provision of mental health services for older people in Hampshire.

But their plan to close the organic dementia ward at Petersfield Hospital in favour of a centralised service in Gosport has few supporters.

Dozens of people signed a petition last Friday against the closure of the Willows ward at a meeting organised by Mrs Vincent.

And East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds has vowed to press the foundation for answers after hearing 90 minutes of concerns.
