ELSTEAD’S Honeypot Antiques Centre will close its doors for good on August 28, after the site was sold for re-development.

After a successful 21 years of trading, including 16 under the current management, it will be a sad day for the 30 stallholders, some of whom have been there for more than two decades.

A few will continue to trade in other centres and online, while others are retiring.

It comes after Waverley Borough Council granted full planning permission in March 2015 for a scheme comprising a smaller retail shop unit, two flats and three cottages.

Between now and August 28 the centre is holding a closing-down sale, with a wide range of stock and shop fittings offered at “generous discounts”.

A spokesman for the Honeypot partners added: “The centre would like to thank the many customers and trade who have supported them for so long.”
