TENNIS players in Farnham can get a sense of what it’s like playing at Queen’s Club in London after The Bourne Racquets and Fitness Club in Frensham Road unveiled its new tennis court surface.

The new Doe Olympus surface is the highest quality artificial grass surface available, used by top venues including Queen’s.

Club president David Carew-Jones said: “It is playable in almost all weathers, has a steady regular bounce, is very robust and plays at a medium pace which will suit both beginners and advanced players. The spring in the carpet also minimises impact injuries on the knees.”

David added the new surface is just the first stage in a five-year investment programme at the Bourne Club which includes the replacement of all the tennis court surfaces, the building of a new top quality gym facility, the creation of covered courts in the winter and an improvement in the club infrastructure.

He continued: “Our goal is to create the finest small racquets and fitness club in the area which will combine sporting opportunities with a unique friendly and social ambience for people of all ages.”
