IN true Sherlock Holmes style, the plot thickens over the future of the famous author's former Undershaw home in Hindhead.
It comes after the latest twist in the long-running battle for planning permission to turn the now dilapidated grade II historic former home of Arthur Conan Doyle for 10 years, into eight homes.
Developers suffered their latest setback after a High Court judge turned down permission for Fossway to take their case to redevelop the property to Court of Appeal, this week.
Some 1,300 objections by fans from around the world were made to plans by Fossway, based in the British Virgin Islands to redevelop the site, in June 2010.
The High Court overturned Waverley Borough Council's decision to grant planning permission for the house – which overlooks the Nutcombe Valley and the Weald – in May.
