FARNHAM Help for Refugees is due to hold its 11th aid collection since the group was created in September 2015.

The autumn collection will take place on October 5, between 3pm and 7pm at St George’s Church in Badshot Lea.

In the past, people of Farnham and its surrounding areas have donated new, preloved and handmade items, as well as offering their time to sort through aid, raise awareness of the collections and travel out to refugee camps to offer support on the ground.

The aid collected by Farnham Help for Refugees is distributed to refugees by various agencies working in the Middle East, Europe and the UK.

The following items are needed:

• Clothing (adult and children’s): Jumpers, hoodies, fleeces, waterproof coats, jeans, joggers, leggings (small or medium), children’s winter clothes, pants and socks (new only), bras (new or as new), hats, scarves, gloves, men’s walking boots and trainers (size seven to nine only).

• Toiletries: Shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sanitary towels (reusable and disposable, not tampons), razors (disposable), soap and hairbrushes.

• Baby care: Nappies (reusable and disposable), wipes, nappy rash cream, Calpol, infacol, gripe water, Vaseline, Sudocrem, Bepanthen, muslin squares, baby blankets and baby-grows.

• Medical/other: Crutches, frames, walking sticks, wheelchairs, neck braces, leg splints, painkillers (unopened), tents (small), sleeping bags and fleece or lightweight blankets.

• No other shoes or duvets.
