POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road crash in Northchapel at the weekend.
A 33-year-old man from Rustington was killed when his Rover 214 left the A283 carriageway and collided with a tree.
The accident occured at 8-07 am on Sunday, 350m south of the junction with Streels Lane. The man was driving north between the Flowerbowl garage and Northchapel.
Haslemere fire and rescue service assisted the West Sussex brigade in making the scene safe.
Local diversions were set up, with traffic redirected north bound through Gospel Green and southbound along the B2131.
