AN appeal has been lodged by Peter Cook (Builders) against a refusal by East Hampshire District Council to grant permission for the construction of a detached single-storey dwelling to the rear and new garage to the front, following demolition of existing garage, at Firfield, Windsor Road, Medstead.
The application was turned down by district council planners in January on grounds that the proposal would comprise an “unacceptable form of tandem development” which would be “detrimental to the character of the area” contrary to local planning policy.
And it was felt likely to result in “noise and disturbance to neighbouring occupiers through the introduction of vehicle movement to the rear of properties, detrimental to their residential amenities”.
The appeal is to be dealt with via written representation.
Letters should be sent to The Planning Inspectorate, Room 3J/200, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN quoting reference APP/M1710/W/16/3147538 to arrive no later than June 8.
