TWO youths have been arrested in connection with horrific attacks on sheep in Lindford last month.

Information from local residents led to the arrest of the two youths who are on bail while investigations into the incident continue.

As previously reported by The Herald, eight sheep were savaged on May 10 at Highland Farm.

Two sheep died after receiving head wounds, one had to be put down after having its eyes removed and four more drowned.

Another pregnant sheep had its eyes removed the previous night, although she was nursed back to health and and has since given birth.

Pc James Richardson thanked members of the public who had helped police officers carry out their investigation.

He said: ÒTwo youths have been arrested following information provided. Clothing and other items have been seized for examination.

ÒWe want to thank the public for helping us out. We intend to carry out forensic tests, but we are appealing for people to come forward who may have seen something a couple of days before the incident happened which they donÕt necessarily think is relevant but which we think might be.Ó
