A SPECIAL art exhibition featuring paintings selected by aritist from across the community, takes place at Haslemere Museum this month.
Showing off the museum’s fine art collection, the exhibition presents a fascinating insight into why the paintings were chosen and is a unique opportunity to explore some of the museum’s outstanding fine art collection.
Highlights include a painting by Byron Cooper, an accomplished Victorian artist in both oil and watercolour and one by Josiah Whymper a talented watercolour painter who lived in the Town House, Haslemere, opposite the museum.
Collections manager Lindsay Moreton said: “We are thrilled with this new exhibition.
“All the works on show are from the museum’s reserve collection and not normally on display to the public so this is a fantastic opportunity to come and view them. Thanks go to everyone involved for the enormous effort they have put into allowing this remarkable exhibition to take place.”
The exhibition runs until Saturday, May 28 except Sundays and Mondays, from 10am until 5pm.
