IT'S been around for 80 years and is still the number one and largest arts event of the year in Petersfield and for miles around. Petersfield Arts and Crafts Society's annual exhibition, which is traditionally held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, opens its doors next week in Petersfield Festival Hall. Founded in 1934, it has a respected and long-established history for presenting high-quality paintings, sculpture, ceramic, wood work, jewellery and textiles, and in 2014 it is as popular as ever. With some 250 members and 620 exhibits of the highest quality, the society gives both amateur and professional artists the opportunity to exhibit alongside each other.
