ON Wednesday, June 7, the Farnham Public Art Trust is presenting a lecture entitled “John Constable – a quiet revolutionary” by the popular speaker Daphne Jefferis, on the paintings of John Constable.

His paintings of scenes in Suffolk and Essex around his home, in what is now known as Constable Country are well known.

The talk will be illustrated and should be a positive summer treat for lovers of paintings such as The Hay Wain, Dedham Vale and Wivenhoe Park.

Daphne Jefferis’ lecture will be at the St Joan’s Centre on Tilford Road, Farnham. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start and tickets are £6 (students £2) payable at the door. For further information call 01252 702449.
