BENTLEY’S Friday Art Group annual exhibition is expected to attract art lovers from far and wide to the village’s Memorial Hall next week.
The imposing portrait of Baden Powell in the Hugh Barton Room will be temporarily replaced from April 22-24 by the 10 members’ watercolour paintings from the past 12 months.
This year the group has four new members, who introduce their own unique styles and subject matter.
There is something for everyone and regular visitors to this event appreciate the welcoming cup of coffee or tea and the opportunity for a friendly chat with the exhibiting artists, who will include Wendy Bennett (from Lindford), Paul Dickie (Crookham Village), Lindsay Goolding-Berry (Sherborne St John), Carol Ann Hildreth (Farnham), Pam (Pell) Jones (Alton), Tom Moss (Camberley), Alex Phipps (Yately), Angela Vizard (Church Crookham), Robert Roope (Camberley), and Tony Yates (Fleet).
Sadly, during the past year one of the group’s most-loved members, Peter Forey, died, but with the kind assistance of Pam, his wife, there will be a non-selling retrospective display of his paintings during the exhibition.
Entry is free and there is easy parking for visitors. Opening times are from noon to 5pm on Friday, April 22, and from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday.
Sadly, the Hugh Barton Room has no disabled access as it is on the first floor.
