THE Farnham Decorative and Fine Arts Society is proud to launch its third church trail, aimed at children between the ages of eight and 12 years, at All Saints Church in Crondall.

The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) has developed these trails all over the country, and the responses from schools using them as a teaching tool has been extremely positive.

The aim of the trails is to encourage children and their families to learn about the church’s history and inspire them to visit and enjoy other churches in the future.

Prior to this launch, the Farnham branch successfully launched two other church trails at St Andrew’s Church with St Andrew’s School, and at St John’s Church with Hale School.

Lesley Gerhold, Young Arts chairman, said: “You will see that they are meant for people of all backgrounds and assume no great knowledge of Christianity.

“However, we do hope that they may be of help in providing children with a greater knowledge of history, both local and national, as well as giving opportunities for art.

“We also hope to provide a suggestions sheet for further educational developments, which could take place back in the classroom.”
