ALTON Art Society’s 87th annual exhibition finishes this weekend.

It is being held at the town’s Assembly Rooms until Sunday (October 14).

Free to enter, visitors can expect to view hundreds of exhibits, including paintings in different media, sculptures, ceramics, and textiles from art society members who have been allowed to submit up to four paintings or six 3D works each.

The stage has been given over to a children’s exhibition, featuring work from local schools – the prizegiving for which takes place at 11am on Saturday (October 13).

During the exhibition, visitors will be able to watch artists at work and to vote for their favourite exhibit.
