THE New Ashgate Gallery in Waggon Yard, Farnham, is in danger of having to close if it does not receive a cash injection in the immediate future.

The gallery, a not-for-profit charitable trust, has brought the best in contemporary art and crafts to Farnham and the South East for over 50 years. Unique within the region, the majority of funding comes from selling high quality ceramics, jewellery and paintings by some of the most talented artists and makers in the UK.

But the economic downturn has dramatically affected sales, in particular those of paintings, over the last few months and the gallery's immediate future is in jeopardy.
