MAJOR Tim Peake will be making his first public appearance in the UK since completing his 136-day mission on the International Space Station (ISS) at the Farnborough International Airshow next week.
The first British European Space Agency astronaut to visit space, Major Peake captivated a nation during his time on the ISS and will once again be offering inspiration to the next generation at the airshow’s Futures Day next Friday, July 15.
He will also be making public appearances that day as part of FAB Friday, which is when the airshow opens its doors to aviation enthusiasts.
On Saturday, July 16, the public will also be able to see him as he returns to Farnborough to take part in stage show Airshow Live, where as well as being interviewed he will be launching the flying display.
Up to 80,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Farnborough International Airshow, which opens to the public on Saturday, July 16, and Sunday, July 17.
This year’s show will boast a five-hour flying display headlined by the new F35 Joint Strike Fighter on one of its first flights in Europe, as well as the RAF Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
