AN attempted theft of lead from a village church has prompted a police plea for people to be “extra vigilant”.
East Hampshire police community support officer Tobey Mason said: “Can I ask that people are extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity via the 101 service. If you see a crime taking place, please call 999 immediately.”
He added that smartwater marking or a thin layer of grease can make lead more difficult to steal.
