CHILDREN’S author Dame Jacqueline Wilson has agreed to become a patron of the Treloar Trust.
Dame Jacqueline, well known for her vast and diverse work in children’s literature and whose most enduring and successful literary character is Tracy Beaker, visited the campus in the summer for the finale of the Six Book Challenge, an annual competition run by The Reading Agency to encourage people to read.
She said she was delighted when asked to become a Treloar’s patron, adding: “I very much enjoyed my visit to Treloar’s earlier this year. It is such a special place with a wonderful atmosphere among students and staff. I shall look forward to working with Treloar’s further as a patron.”
