JEREMY Strong, award-winning author of The Hundred-Mile- An-Hour Dog and My Brother’s Famous Bottom, cut the ribbon at St Bartholomew’s Primary School to launch its new-look library.
Teacher Sarah Curry, who is responible for the Haslemere school’s library, said. “It was a wonderful experience for children and adults alike. Jeremy also took different age group assemblies, making the children laugh with his anecdotes and reading them extracts from his fantastic books.
“The children were amazed by the fact he has published 106 books and were keen to ask questions about his work. They were inspired by his visit and immediately began to think up ideas for their own stories and future books.
“They also had the opportunity to buy one of his books, with the support of Haslemere Bookshop, and have them signed by the author himself, which proved to very popular.”
