CHILDREN’S author Alison Donald launched her second picture book, ‘The Pirates in Classroom Three’, at Waterstones in Farnham.
Alison is Canadian-born and lives in Farnham with her husband and three young children. As a paediatric occupational therapist, she has over 10 years of experience helping children with special needs reach their potential.
However, Alison has also been writing stories since she was a child and after years of scribbling story ideas on envelopes and scrap paper, she finally joined the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators in 2014 and with their support, her writing took off.
Her first book, ‘The New LiBEARian’, was published in 2016 and has been nominated for the Sheffield Children’s Book Award and was also selected for the national Summer Reading Challenge this year.
Alison’s second book 'The Pirates in Classroom Three’, again published by Maverick Arts Publishing and illustrated by Ben Whitehouse, is an adventure story about pirates causing calamity in the classroom.
Perfect for all pirate lovers, the book challenges young readers to solve word puzzles to help Captain Calamity find his treasure.
Alison launched ‘The Pirates in Classroom Three. at Waterstones in Lion and Lamb Yard on October 25 with a book reading, signing and crafts session.
