FARNHAM teenager Bradley Hooper’s former motocross club pulled out all the stops on the second anniversary of his tragic death.

Brad, as he was commonly known, died aged 16 after he was hit by an airborne bike at the Tonymoto track near Winchester on May 11, 2014, just days before he was due to take his first GCSE exam at Heath End School.

Two years on, Mid Sussex Motocross Club held a memorial event at its track in Shermanbury in West Sussex last month in memory of their former rider #23.

The club’s senior group rookies lined up at the gates, started their bikes then were given the signal to stall all engines for a two -minute silence to honour their friend.

The customary red, white and blue balloons, Brad’s favourite racing colours, were released in his memory.

This year the Bradley Hooper Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to a member of the 14 to 17 years old category who demonstrates ‘something special’ in their performance, was awarded to Joe Griggs, who moved up 11 places in his last race of the day, which put him into the top ten - seventh overall.
