A FAMILY walk was the winning image in the 2019 National Trust Blackdown and Hindhead Supporters competition for the most atmospheric local view.
Judge Clinton Blackman, Haslemere Camera Club chairman, commended Elizabeth Scorer for her photograph of Black Down’s viewpoint for its “strong directional lighting”.
Nev Greener received second prize for her view from Black Down’s Temple of the Winds, praised for “capturing the warm early morning light, in particular the isolated country cottage nestling in a sea of mist”.
Michelle Garner’s came third with her “technically excellent photograph” of bluebells.
The prizes were sponsored by Haslemere High Street business Raymond Reid Photo and they were presented at a special ceremony by the proprietor Brian Simmons on January 14.
The panel agreed unanimously that a photograph of a footpath winding uphill, taken by ten-year-old Sophia Eyre should receive a special mention.
Supporters group spokesman Bob Daniels said: “We had 66 valid entries and a good range of different subjects.”
