SHINING additions to the village were recognised in The Grayshott Society’s 10th annual awards ceremony.

The awards are made to individuals, businesses and organisations that have made a special contribution to the community.

Society chairman Lady Haddon-Cave said: “We had three award winners for 2019 and the award plates were presented to Jon Jackson and Liam Duncan in recognition of the hard work that goes into maintaining and adding to the wonderful and magical Grayshott Christmas lights each year.

“The lights give many people huge pleasure in the Christmas season.

“An award was presented to the owners of The Dog and Hair, Hannah Mason and Chris Heritage. Hannah and Chris have started a new business in a smart shop that enhances the little row of Edwardian shops within the Conservation Area on Headley Road.

“We wish them luck as they build their business and thank Hannah and Chris for giving us such a lovely, smart new shop front that enhances the village scene in Grayshott.

“These awards were set up to be given to those whose work enhances and improves the village and all the 2019 winners most certainly achieved this.”

The presentations followed the society’s well-attended AGM and have become a popular village fixture.

Nominations for individuals, businesses and organisations that have further enhanced Grayshott are put forward to the committee by members.

Lady Haddon-Cave thanked Glenn Myers managing director of Grayshott Pottery for continuing to donate the personally inscribed ceramic award plates and hosting the event in the pottery’s restaurant.
