A BORDON battalion has refused to accept a soldier who went AWOL with his soldier girlfriend from an Army base in Cyprus.
4 Battalion, based in the town, was asked to accept Sergeant Jason Archer into their ranks, but refused, believing it would be bad for morale. Sgt Archer had been AWOL from the Army for six months with his girlfriend, lance-bombadier Heidi Cochrane.
