AN ambitious and innovative scheme has been launched to build a £30,000 bandstand on The Heath to commemorate the Queen's diamond jubilee next year.

The idea for the permanent solid brick and vandal-proof monument has come out on top of a list of suggestions to celebrate 60 years of the Queen's reign as well as being something that generations of music lovers could enjoy.
