POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of crowd barriers belonging to the Whitehill and Bordon Town Partnership.

Between October 17 and last Saturday, the town partnership's new crowd barriers were stolen.

These barriers had been bought in June with a grant from Hampshire County Council and were being stored behind metal containers at the old Whitehill Club grounds.

They are used at events such as next month's Christmas fair.

"Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to purchase any more at present and claiming from insurance is unlikely to benefit us with higher premiums," said Whitehill and Bordon Town Partnership's chairman Curtis Bone.

"Not only have the thieves stolen from a non-profit organisation that run events for the town, but they have also jeopardised the running of the events. We hope to secure the loan of barriers to run the Christmas event on December 6, but long term we need to raise funds.

"Please support us by attending our events and showing the thieves they have not won."
