At the time of his death, former Mill Chase pupil Mr Bartlett was a Royal Navy marine engineer aboard HMS Liverpool. It is thought that a single blow caused the fatal brain injury that killed him. Four Royal Marines were subsequently cleared of all charges relating to the incident.
Now, one of the "first main goals" of her charity fundraising has been completed with the renovation of the Giant's Chair at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. She explained that the family wanted something significant and something that could be played on to commemorate her son.
