BEER drinkers in Farnham raised more than £24,000 at this year's Beerex, the Farnham Lions announced this week.

The figure means that the annual beer festival held in the Farnham Maltings has now raised more than £250,000 for various charities since it was started in 1977. The first Beerex raised profits of just over £1,000.
