THE plight of a Dutch haulier, who tried in vain to drive his 40-foot artic under a railway bridge at Bentley, has led to renewed pleas for improved signing.

According to local residents, the C98 Bentley to Blacknest road is regularly blocked by HGVs trying to negotiate the 12-foot bridge and they have had enough.
