Some 350 walkers took part in 13 walks over two days, covering varying distances and interests, as part of the town's first Walking Festival at the weekend.
The Festival celebrates the town's award last year of the coveted Walkers are Welcome accreditation and to highlight some of the activities being promoted through the Active Alton campaign.
Organised by Alton Town Council and working with local organisations, the walks were headed by experienced leaders, who ensured that the walks were conducted safely and expert knowledge imparted.
