POLICE in East Hampshire are being urged to be aware of rogue traders operating in the area who are attempting to con people into thinking there is a problem with their roof or other parts of their homes.

It follows reports of conmen targeting householders in Horndean, south of Petersfield.

The perpetrators knock on doors and hand out leaflets.

Anyone who does need repairs is advised to go through a recommended source, either via a friend or a known building company.
