SURREY Police is appealing for the public’s help in tracking down four First World War campaign medals.

The medals were reported stolen from an address in Seale Lane, Farnham, on April 11 while the owner was in respite care.

They belong to the owner’s late grandfather and hold significant sentimental value. One is a victory medal and a second – red, white and green – is a special medal awarded by the Italian Government.

Surrey Police spokesman Detective Sergeant Andy Greaves said: "I am urging anybody who has seen the medals or knows of their whereabouts to get in touch with us.

"We would love to be able to find these and return them in one piece. They may not be worth much money but they are priceless to the owner and his family.”
