AN Alton woman has scooped an amazing prize in the National Bingo game.

Anne Pritchard won £94,190 plus a regional prize of £1,024 and a club prize of £157 having completed a Òfull houseÓ in 40 numbers, the fewest anywhere nationwide.

Her total winnings were an amazing £95,371.

Mrs Pritchard (66) has been playing the bingo game at Basingstoke for five years.

ÒItÕs an evening out and I find it very sociable,Ó she said. ÒMy husband is always out doing his thing so this is my enjoyment.Ó

National Bingo is played every night of the year, except Christmas Day and has two games on Saturday. Since it began in June 1986, some £689 million has been paid out to lucky winners.

The £2 million state-of-the-art game control centre links 550 clubs in the UK. More than £1 million is paid out every week.

Mrs Pritchard, who has recently retired as receptionist from her husbandÕs garage, has also just taken up bowls. She and her husband have an extended family of seven children and 14 grandchildren.

She said she will share her good fortune with the family and is going to take a holiday to Lanzarote with some of them in the near future.
