FARNHAM Town Council has fired off a strong objection to Waverley's proposal to appropriate open space for its East Street scheme and lease it to a private developer for 150 years.
Waverley's intention is to lease the East Street site to Crest Nicholson Sainsbury's and part of the Riverside land to Brightwells Tennis Club, enabling it to relocate from the development site.
But the town council has dug its heels in over proposals that would leave the developer in control of the scheme's public areas, including the central open space and part of Borelli Walk.
