Rise in hospital admissions for stress and anxiety in east Berkshire, north east Hampshire, Farnham and Surrey HeathRunning from July 27 to August 7, this year’s playscheme was again aimed at children aged five to 10, offering a "unique, good value, varied and stimulating" programme of activities.
It has been active for 18 years, run in conjunction with Surrey Wildlife Trust and supported by councillor David Munro, Farnham Lions, Farnham Round Table and the Tilford Parochial Charity.
Despite their busy lives, the programme is run by a committee of mums who all have children at school, volunteering their time to create the popular event during two weeks of the summer holidays.
The event, which is led by Mel Jackson, a highly experienced primary school teacher, was “hugely enjoyable” and, as reflected in its name, again had a “strong environmental and community ethos”.
It is run in the Tilford Institute overlooking the village’s idyllic cricket ground and had 35 local children participating this year.
