THIEVES have struck again in Hartley Wintney – this time, making off with two bikes.

Last week a motorbike disappeared from one property in the village, and a bicycle was taken from another. The three break-ins are the latest in a recent spate of thefts in the area.

The first of the latest crimes happened between April 28 and April 29, when the thieves got into a garage in Green Lane, and made off with a Honda motorcycle.

Police are asking people to keep an eye out for the bike – registration number RK15 TTJ.

The second crime happened nearby during the same time period. Someone forced open three containers at a building site outside Greenfields Junior School, also on Green Lane.

The same site was targetted earlier in the month, when thieves stole several gas cylinders. This time nothing was reported as taken.

Yet another burglary happened at some point during the same two days. Thieves broke into an unlocked shed on land next to West Green Road and stole a bicycle.

It all started at the beginning of last month, when the gas cylinders and fishing equipment were stolen in two separate incidents. Police are warning residents to make sure all items left in outhouses are locked securely, with no valuables left on show.

The police have asked anyone with further information to phone them on 101.
