AN appeal has been lodged by MC Motorcycle Training, which wants a Government planning inspector to overturn a decision by East Hampshire District Council not to allow Bordon’s Masonic Hall car park to be used for motorcycle training.
MC Motorcycle Training had submitted a retrospective planning application for the car park, in Woolmer Way, to be used for its training and for the retention of a shipping container used for teaching and the storage of motorcycles and equipment.
District council planners refused permission because, they said, the plan would result in a continued detrimental impact on the occupiers of nearby properties due to the hours and intensity of the car park’s use and the excessive noise generated.
They said the shipping container was an unacceptable form of development with a detrimental impact on the visual street scene. The appeal will be determined by a hearing followed by a site visit. Representations must be submitted to the district council by November 1.
