A 17-year-old motorcyclist remained in a critical condition at St George's Hospital, Tooting, as The Herald went to press, after a crash near the Shepherd and Flock roundabout on Saturday morning. His orange Suzuki GS500E motorcycle hit the central reservation barrier as he left the roundabout on the A31 travelling towards Guildford at around 8-30 am. The rider suffered a serious head injury and was taken by ambulance to Frimley Park Hospital. He was later transferred to the Atkinson Morley wing of St George's Hospital in Tooting. The Guildford-bound carriageway of the A31 was closed for two-and-a-half hours. The police have appealed for any witnesses to contact the collision investigation unit on 01932 569922.
