POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an accident at the Golden Pot crossroads on the B3349, Alton to Odiham road, left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

The 50-year-old man was travelling south, toward Alton, with a group of fellow motorcyclists, when a car passed them and then turned left. As this happened, the victim lost control and came off his motorbike. He was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The incident happened at the notorious Golden Pot junction at Shalden, at 7.10pm on Wednesday, May 31.

The car, described as a blue BMW estate, and the motorcycle are not thought to have made contact and the motorist carried on, possibly unaware of what had happened. But officers would still like to speak to the BMW?driver.

They would also like to speak to any witnesses who saw the incident.
