A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital last Friday following a rush-hour crash on the A3 at Longmoor. The rider of the motorcycle, a 21-year-old woman from Haslemere, was taken to the Royal Surrey Hospital, in Guildford, by air ambulance because her injuries were initially thought to be serious. She suffered an injury to her ankle and bruising after a collision with a black Kia Rio. The accident - between the Ham Barn Roundabout and the Griggs Green junction - took place at around 5.30pm and led to long queues in both directions. Both lanes were closed for a short period to allow the air ambulance to land, while the driver of the Kia, a 28-year-old woman from Petersfield, was not injured.
