THE day bins are collected across the district are set to change as East Hampshire District Council switches its environmental services contracts.
New bin collection calendars are being sent to every home informing residents of their new bin day.
The council’s new environmental services contract starts today (Monday).
Although residents’ collection days are likely to change, the things that can and can not be collected will stay the same and refuse, recycling, glass and garden waste will continue to be collected from the kerbside.
District council leader Richard Millard said: “We are working hard to make the transition to the new contract as smooth as possible and ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
“The new rounds and collection days will take time for residents and the people collecting the bins to get used to.
“Residents can do their bit by checking their calendar and making sure they put the right bin out by 7am on the right day and helping elderly or vulnerable neighbours to do the same.”
