BIRDWORLD is delighted to welcome keeper Zoe Keeping home as she returns from volunteering on Robben Island in South Africa - a hotspot for seabird biodiversity.
Working with experienced researchers, Zoe’s team gathered data contributing to the larger study being carried out on the island. This included low-tech observations with binoculars as well as using high-tech equipment to monitor the penguins’ movements more remotely.
Zoe’s two-week trip was funded by the Birdworld conservation fund and she was put to work the moment she stepped off the plane.
